Joined the firm of Ault, Clark & Associates, Ltd. located near Washington D.C. in July 1995 immediately after graduating from Penn State. Promoted to Senior Associate Architect in May 1999, and continued with the ACA through the end of October 2002.
Jim began his own golf course architectural firm Cervone Golf Design located near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where he lives with his wife Kelly and three sons. He has been involved in all aspects of golf course architecture, overseeing the design and construction of new facilities, and master planning of existing facilities. He has prepared all levels of construction documentation including; grading plans, cost estimates, specifications, routing plans, landscape plans, etc., and has even served as an expert witness in a three golf related court cases.
Jim has worked on projects across the United States and abroad in the Caribbean and South Africa. He is also serving as a project architect for ACA on several current projects providing production of construction documents, and construction administration.
